This series includes records of NYBG's building, planning, and other construction activities during Steere's term as NYBG Director.

Special projects include the Experimental Greenhouse, the architectural competition for the new wing of the Administration Building, the rehabilitation of the Museum Building, and the plans for a new conservatory. This series also contains correspondence and reports of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, contracts and costs for construction projects, and records of other capital improvements activities.
