This series includes records of NYBG's staff during Robbins directorship. It is divided into four Sub-Series: Salary and Budget, Griffenhagen Wage Study, Pension Plans, and Unions and Employee Communication. The Salary and Budget Sub-Series contains correspondence from the New York City Board of Estimate, New York City Bureau of Budgets, and the New York City Board of Comptroller. The Pension Plans Sub-Series involves correspondence about establishing a pension program for employees of the garden. The Unions and Employee Communication Sub-Series involves correspondence with the United Public Workers of America and C.I.O. III, and deals with the unionization of Garden employees, as well as including them in the then new Social Security program. This Sub-Series also includes memos and staff circulars that were shared with Garden Employees.
