Scope and Contents
The series consists of an address book, diaries, scrapbooks, correspondence, clippings, and a small box of personal effects. Notable items include two files of news clippings and correspondence regarding the preservation of trees and other flora in New York City parks and a scrapbook containing personal correspondence and clippings related to the Normal School. Additionally, this series includes a diary from the Brittons' wedding vacation (1885) and their trip to Kew Botanic Garden (1888), each accompanied by a typed transcription.
