Series 1: Administrative Records, 1947 - 1977

This series contains information on the formation of the Mary Flagler Cary Arboretum, the Garden’s relationship with the New York City Parks Department, general budgetary matters, and the budget cuts imposed on cultural institutions during the 1970s. It also includes material related to the construction of the laboratory later named after Harding, as well as a proposal for a Science and Education Center in the Museum Building.
