Series 1: Domestic Correspondence, 1947-1983

Materials in this series include correspondence concerning Dr. Becker's publications, professional memberships, field work, grant applications, student recommendations and requests for reprints. This series also includes inter-office correspondence within the NYBG Herbarium. A brief history of the NYBG Paleobotany Collections is also found herein. Many correspondents are listed under the institution they are affiliated with rather than by their personal name. Dr. Becker maintained a close personal correspondence with many colleagues, especially Chester Arnold, Roland W. Brown, Harry D. MacGinitie, John A. Dorr and Joseph Wood.
