Series 4: Medicinal plant files

The first of the five subseries in the Medicinal plant files includes clippings arranged by species (397 files). Subfile 2 contains data on sample procurement sources and common plant names. Subfile 3 has information on source references and screening projects. Subfile 4 is concerned with reported activity of plants and Subfile 5 concerns alkaloids and drugs of animals and mineral origin. Series 4 also contains accompanying index card files on collectors of menispermaceae, strychnos and erythrina. The erythrina files are listed as being on loan to the Missouri Botanical Garden as of October 1983.
