Scope and Contents The A. T. Beals collection consists of lists, manuscripts, correspondence, translations, photographs and one field notebook related to his position as Secretary-Treasurer of the Sullivant Moss Society, its publication The Bryologist and his collections of North American bryophytes. Scope and Contents The collection largely consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence pertaining mostly to Torrey's work as a botanist and professor. Much of the scientific correspondence is in regard to identification of plants from the vast interior of the North American continent collected during government sponsored expeditions.
